We have just released the NEW Affiliate Marketing Program within the PropTrackr Real Estate Management Software and will be sending out our BETA Keys to a select few PropTrackr accounts. We are currently testing the new update to find and locate any bugs before sending out to our current clients. Please be patient as we working out any small issues.

To give you an idea of what this new update will do and how you can get it to work for your real estate company, we will explain a little bit here and at our support center.

Here at PropTrackr we designed the Affiliate Program to help expand our network of real estate professionals while giving back to our current clients. The PropTrackr affiliate program is so simple to use it almost makes money on auto pilot. By simply signing up for the PropTrackr software you gain access to the affiliate program and immediately start earning a 25% commission on every new paying client you get to sign up to the PropTrackr real estate management software.

How does the Affiliate Program work?

When you signup for a PropTrackr account or if you already have a PropTrackr account you are automatically eligible to participate in the affiliate marketing program. Once you have created a campaign you will place a tiny snippet of code on any website, within that tiny piece of code PropTrackr has generated a unique ID specific to your campaign. Once you have placed the banner advertisement you are on your way to making some extra money. The PropTrackr Affiliate program will track clicks, free trial sign ups and paid accounts that are driven by your affiliate program banner.

How much can I earn?

The PropTrackr affiliate program allows you to collect 25% of every paying customer you sign up. So if you signup 2 client who pay their first month, you will receive 25% of each monthly cost. The more you get to signup the more you can make.

How do I get paid?

PropTrackr will send you a check once you have accumulated $250 dollars worth of monthly clients.

Can I roll that money directly into my PropTrackr account?

Unfortunately no, not at this time.

How do I setup a campaign?

The PropTrackr affiliate program is simple to use and understand. You can set up a new campaign with just a few clicks of your mouse. The way it works is you decide on where you would like to place the affiliate banner or text, on your own website, a website like Activerain or RealTown, blog comments, just about anywhere. Once you have decided that you simply login to your PropTrackr account, navigate to the affiliate section and create a new campaign. Title the campaign anything you would like and your done, your first PropTrackr affiliate campaign is running and you are ready to start earning extra income.

Alright I have a campaign, Now what?

Simply click the view details by right clicking on the campaign and PropTrackr has provided you with the auto generated snippet of code for you to place where you would like. Choose from five preloaded banners, ranging in size from 728x90px to 250x300px all the way up to sky scraper banners at 160x600px.

Where can I place these banners?

Any website you would like. There is no restriction on where these can go.

How many campaigns can I have running?

Unlimited, we suggest that you a few campaigns running with detailed titles so you can track them easily and you can place them anyplace you would like. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Activerain, RealTown, Your Blog or anyplace you would like.

Do I have to use the PropTrackr banners?

No you do NOT have to use the banner we give you. If you can create your own banners or text banners you can use any banner you would like. The only thing you can NOT change is the unique URL identifier.

Can I use a text link instead of a banner?

Yes you can, by simply changing the HTML code you can add your own banner or text.

One of the most important things you can do on the internet is to build your network of people and websites. Link building is huge for your website to perform well with search results. The more websites that are linked to you — the bigger your network gets. Just like networking at an open house or a social gathering can help get your name out there, link building can do the same for your business and website. The more people you know the more advertising (word of mouth) you get. Linking your website with other real estate professionals can only help expand your business and your name. Most of us are on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google Buzz advertising our business or passing on useful information. Another great way to network is to join the community of real estate professionals on sites like Activerain and Real Town to name just a couple.

We know there are hundreds more and thats what this post is for, here at PropTrackr we would like to bring all of the networks you are on into one place so other real estate professionals can connect up. The idea behind this post is to drive traffic to each others real estate websites or social site allowing us to build a community of real estate professionals.

So we would love for you to place your networks below, in the comment section and we will post them live for everyone to see. See you on the web!

Tips & Tricks to make your life easier and more organized, Google Voice. What is Google Voice? Google [...]

Tips & Tricks to make your life easier and more organized, Google Voice.

What is Google Voice?
Google Voice is a telecommunications service by Google launched on March 11, 2009. The service provides a US phone number, chosen by the user from available numbers in selected area codes, free of charge to each user account. ( read more )

What are the advantages of using Google voice?
Multiple phones and numbers linking to just one phone number, call your Google voice number and your home phone, cell phone, office line and your car phone rings also. Ok nobody has a car phone anymore but if you had a car phone then yes it would ring. Never miss another call again because they called the office line and you weren’t there. Plus you can have one phone number to give out for the rest of your life, no more handing out a cell number, home number or office number.

How can Google voice save me time in PropTrackr?
Google Extension for Google Chrome turns any phone number on the web into a clickable link. Once you click the number Google Voice calls you on the phone you choose and automatically connects you to the number you just clicked. No more picking up the phone and dialing the 10 digit number. Now all of your contacts phone number in the PropTrackr System are easy to reach by just the click of the button.

Google voice allows you to have multiple numbers and telephone lines but stay in contact with them at all times. Saving time by no longer checking messages on multiple lines, making sure you don’t miss that important business call because you had to run out of home or office. Your family telephone can now ring to your cell phone or office line.

Why would I use Google voice?
One phone number, online voicemail, and enhanced call features.

What are the advantages?

One Number – Use a single number that rings you anywhere.

Online voicemail – Get transcribed messages delivered to your inbox.

Cheap calls – Free calls & text messages to the U.S. & Canada with SUPER low rates everywhere else.

Extension for Google Chrome – You can now use Google Voice with your existing mobile phone number. You won’t get all the functionality that a Google number brings you, but you’ll get Google Voicemail, low priced international calling, and several other useful features.

Receive & reply to SMS messages by email – With SMS forwarding, you can receive text messages via email. Reply straight to those emails to save on text message fees.

We know it seems like development has been slow over the past few weeks around PropTrackr. After our network outages a few weeks ago, we have taken drastic steps to increase the reliability of our network. We’ve spent a ton of money and time making our system as redundant as possible so that you never have to see any downtime. We’re still working some things out with our new cloud infrastructure but we’ve made an immense amount of progress making sure PropTrackr doesn’t slow you down, ever.

Our new cloud system consists of failover servers and load balancers that should make it so that if one server ever goes down, you won’t even notice it and can continue working while we resolve the issue with the down server. Your ability to close real estate files as quickly as possible the whole reason we created PropTrackr, so rest assured we have learned from our mistakes of the past and moving forward with our networking reliability at the forefront of everything we do.

Over the next few weeks you should start to see a lot of new improvements with the system. We’ve done a complete analysis of the existing applications that make up PropTrackr and working diligently to increase the speed of the system and also it’s ease of use. After all, the easier and faster the system is for you to use, the more you’ll get done in a day.

We look forward to bringing you some exciting new features over the next couple of months like property syndication and our new affiliate system — so keep working hard on real estate and we’ll keep working hard at delivering you the best real estate platform available today!

Our last blog post was on Tip & Tools to use to market your real estate business, click here to read the full article. This time we are going to go over how to use a few of those tools in conjunction with each other to promote your real estate & short sale business. For this blog post we are going to go over Twitter and how to gain followers, or potential clients. Twitter is one of those tools you look at and wonder to yourself “how can this be useful?” Well this is how; Twitter is a great way to do a quick “HEY! I want your attention, come check this out”. If you can get people to click on the Twitter post then you take them to a blog post, your sites homepage or give them the informational news they are looking for. If you can get them to your site, keeping them there and turning them into clients is another obstacle.

So you have signed up for a Twitter account, you started following a few people and you have made a few posts trying to get people to stop by your website and check things out. You end up going a few days without making another appearance on Twitter because let’s face it life gets busy and it’s hard to stop by Twitter and update what you have been up to. Why not use a few of the tools in our last blog post (click here to read it) and FEED Twitter news updates from the web on any specific subject you choose.

Here are a few of the web tools that we are going to discuss and explain today:
Google Alerts
Google Reader
TwitterFeed
HootSuite

The purpose of this automated Twitter posting is not to flood your Twitter account with news updates but to interact with your current followers and attract more to your Twitter account. To gain Twitter followers, people need to see your name and profile picture posting frequently. This easy to setup, automated postings syndication will allow your account to post even when you’re not in front of the computer, thus putting your name on and picture out there for people to find and follow.

Before getting started sign into your Twitter account so any authorization that is going to happen is easy to setup.

STEP 1
Sign into your Gmail account, if you do not have one you can set one up here. Signing up for this is easy and it’s FREE. Click here to sign up.

STEP 2
With your browser window open, start a new tab, the 1st tab should be your Twitter account and the 2nd tab is your Gmail account. Go ahead and get a new tab and go to http://www.google.com/alerts. Here is where we are going to search the Internet for related stories to post on Twitter. On the left hand side of Google Alerts you should see 5 fields you can adjust. NOTE this is only a PREVIEW of the news story, we will explain how to turn them into RSS feeds a little later.

Search Terms – type in the KEYWORD(s) you would like Google to search internet for. (real estate US, short sale US, New Mexico Real Estate, New Jersey Short Sale, etc) Are a few examples, you will have to fine tune these keywords to make sure they are related news stories you would like to post to your Twitter Account. Right below the “Search Terms” field is a preview the results. Click that to see the news related news stories Google has found.

Type – this is telling Google where to search on the internet, would you like Google to search Everything or just news, blogs, videos or discussion forums.

How Often – You will want to choose “As it Happens”, this will allow us to use an RSS feed to post to Twitter later on.

Email Length – This will just show how many news stories.

Now that we have gone over the basic understanding of what Google Alerts are, we are now going to set up the RSS feeds to start pulling in the data. On the right hand side of the Google Alerts page there is link “You can also sign in to manage your alerts”, click that link to get started setting up RSS Feeds. If you are NOT signed into your Gmail Account do so now then click the link again.

Once you have clicked the link to manage your alerts you can now create a NEW Alert (right hand side of the page).

Fill in your keyword(s), choose where you want Google to search, choose “As it Happens, pick how many stories you would like to display in the Google Reader, Choose FEED and then create the alert. Create as many alerts as you would like, you can always go back and edit and delete the alerts later.

STEP 3
Make sure you are still logged into your Gmail account, open a new tab and go to http://www.google.com/reader, here is where you can see the news stories that your Google Alerts are pulling from. On the left hand side of the page you will see SUBSCRIPTIONS, (look down the page a little bit) under there are should see the keyword(s) that are in your Google Alerts. Click on one and you should see the news stories from the search of that keyword on the right hand side. You will have to give Google some time to populate the news stories, about an hour for it to start pulling stories.

We will come back to Google Reader here soon, keep that page open.

STEP 4
We now need to FEED our twitter account but we need to use a third party program. We listed 2 programs that do this very well, TwitterFeed and HootSuite. We know that there are more program like these that are out there on the net but these two seem to do a really great job and are easy to setup. Both programs you will need to sign up for a FREE account.

TwitterFeed – is strictly for RSS feeds and attaching those feeds to your social networks.

HootSuite – is a program that does RSS and allows you to manage your social networks in one place.

Setting up TwitterFeed to post to your Twitter account – once you have signed up its pretty straight forward what to do next but here are our step by step instructions:

You will want to create a New Feed. Name it whatever you would like, we name it the same as our Google Alert, so it makes it easy to track where the information is coming from.

RSS Feed URL – This is where we need to go back to Google Reader – click back to that tab, you should still have that window open if not make sure your still logged into your Gmail account and go to http://www.google.com/reader. When you’re in the Google Reader page, up in the top right corner you will see “Settings” click that and navigate to “Reader Setting” and click.

Second Tab “SUBSCRIPTIONS” you should see ALL of you Google Alerts, select which alert you would like TwitterFeed to post. Select and copy the URL under the title of the alert, the url string should look something like this (http://www.google.com/reader/public/atom/user/03239483159775287666/state/com.google/alerts/2383260231316867321)

Head back over to TwitterFeed and paste that url into the RSS Feed Url and click TEST rss feed. If the test fails make sure there are no spaces at the end of the url or the beginning.

Once the test rss feed passes successfully, click the Advanced Settings text below. From here customize how often you would like the feed to post to twitter and how many stories. The Post Prefix and Post Suffix are for those search terms on Twitter (#realestate #shortsale #proptrackr), you get the idea. Click the Continue to Step 2.

Active Services – Here is where you get to choose what social networks you would like to post to Twitter, Facebook and a few others. For now we will just explain Twitter, clicking on the Twitter text will bring up the Authenticate Page allowing you to attach TwitterFeed to your Twitter account. Go through the few steps to tie them together and you should be brought right back to the Active Service page in TwitterFeed. Once that is completed click the Create Service and you’re done!

Now TwitterFeed will be posting to your Twitter account at whatever intervals you setup in step 2 (Advanced Setting) of your TwitterFeed Account.

HootSuite follows the same basic steps as Twitter feed, except a few things are a little different. If you choose to use HootSuite as your RSS Feeder then you just need to navigate to the setting by click the OWL in the top left corner of your browser. Then click Setting and then over to RSS/Atom and create a new feed.

AND you’re done! You are now posting 24/7 and people will see your name and your posts. This auto posting method is to gain more followers and to get people familiar with your brand. Be sure to REMEMBER to post your recent blog posts or discussion question to help drive traffic to your site.

Thanks for reading this How To instructional Auto Twitter postings. Check back soon as we will continue to explain how to use social marketing to drive traffic to your site.

With the launch of the new website we have also launched the Action Plan Module. Action Plans were designed and developed to save you and your company a lot of time with daily tasks like sending emails to new clients, updating everyone involved with a project and more.

To give you a little preview of how powerful this tool is, lets walk through a possible scenario:

You have a potential home buyer who has contacted your office looking to purchase a home. Taking the contact information and plugging it into your PropTrackr account and assigning it to the “New Client Action Plan” allows you or the system to automatically contact them via email on a predetermined number of days. This isn’t just any email, this email is a “Thank You for your interest and we are working hard to find the best home for you and your family. Please visit www.PropMapr.com to start shopping for the perfect home.”

You have made your first contact with a potential client all without typing a word. PropTrackr’s Action Plan Module has done this for you. Now we get to see the power of this module in action, within the New Client Action Plan there are more “actions” to be completed. Four days after the first initial contact, the system sends another follow up email asking if there are any questions that they might have. All the while you haven’t had to do anything to keep in contact with the new client.

Action Plans are fully customizable to fit your needs, the above situation is just one example of how the system can help automate some of your offices daily tasks. Another Action Plan that can be useful is when a property closes mass emailing everyone involved letting them know that everything has been completed.

Stay tuned as we bring you more Action Plan Templates and ideas to make your real estate profession a little bit easier.
